Do You Live like Like You Believe?

June 28th, 2012

living god

Sometimes as Christians we fall into the mistake of having an attitude towards nonbelievers that if they don’t believe that they are just in rebellion against or have a hard heart against God.

Sometimes that is true.

But I think that very often, nonbelievers just want to know that God and his promises are real.  How can they know that if they don’t see the evidence  of it in our lives.

How can they believe us, who they can hear and see, if we don’t live like we believe it.

If we act like God is blind and can’t see the things in our lives that we are hiding from the rest of the world.

If we act like God is deaf and pray like it’s meaningless and just for show.

If we act like God is dead and act like our salvation was an effortless gift instead of one that was bought without pain and suffering.

Do you live like Jesus is still dead and buried, instead of living and victorious?

Do you believe that through him we also have that victory? Victory for today over the things in your life that are chaining you down?

Do you live, like you believe?

If not, don’t expect those you witness to to believe what you don’t.

Come with great power, O God, and Rescue me! Defend me with your might. ~ Psalm 54: 1

You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering. The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. ~ Psalm 51: 16-17

I will sacrifice a voluntary offering to you; I will praise your name, O Lord, for it is good. ~ Psalms 54: 1 & 8

Create in me a clean heart, O Lord.
Renew a loyal spirit within me.
Do not banish me from your presence
and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and make me willing to obey you.
Then I will teach your ways to the rebels
and they will return to you.  ~ Psalm 51:10-13

Looking Up

I think David looked up a lot. One of the core blessings for God's people, the nation of Israel and Christians through the blood of Jesus, is the Aaronic blessing. It was given in Numbers 6:24-26: May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord smile upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show His favor to you and give you His peace. God gave it as a direct instruction to Moses to give to Aaron to bless the people of Israel for it was a special blessing and he promised: Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in My name, I myself will bless them. ~ Numbers ...

Delight in the Lord and Prosper

August 29th, 2007

Psalms 1:2,3 But his delight is in the law of the Lord and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by the streams of water which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither and what ever he does prospers. I want to be this person who prospers in every area of my life . . . YOU MAY LITTLE ONE. "SEEK ,FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTOUSNESS AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU" Matt 6:33 But how do I do this? I TELL YOU NO ONE CAN ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD UNLESS HE IS BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT. FLESH GIVES BIRTH TO FLESH BUT THE SPIRIT ...
